It’s official and it’s amazingly exciting news for fans of Ransom Riggs’ bestselling novel. Tim Burton is set to direct Ransom Riggs’ Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children the aim of a July 2015 release.
Burton, of course, is famous for his dark, gothic, macabre and quirky take on horror and fantasy style movies such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Ed Wood, and Sleepy Hollow.
Riggs’ story follows a teenage boy who discovers an abandoned children’s home on a Welsh island, only to then uncover the hidden secrets within its walls. The novel makes use of eerie historical photographs that Riggs collected over the years. Each photo depicts a character that the boy meets along his way.
